Raise the operator cab (See Page 1 - 7 for the right
procedure) .
Use a transfer pump to remove the fuel from the fuel tank.
Remove the harness plate screws at the summit of the fuel tank

Move the harness plate over and above the hydraulic reservoir.

ELECTRICAL Organization INFORMATION
DESCRIPTION
The loader has a 12 volt, negative ground electrical alternator
charging organisation. There are two main circuits.
i. The charging circuit has an alternator (with built-in
regulator), a voltmeter and a battery.
ii. The starting circuit has a starter motor, solenoids and other
components for starting the engine.
The loader besides has front and rear lights. Optional windshield
wiper, horn and redundancy warning.
The electrical system is protected by two fuses installed in the
instrument panel. Fuses protect the electric system from an
overload.
TROUBLESHOOTING
The post-obit troubleshooting chart is provided as an assistance
in locating and correcting problems which are nigh common.
Many of the recommended procedures must be washed by
authorized Bobcat Service Personnel only.
A Alarm
Instructions are necessary before operating or servicing
auto. Read Operator'due south Manual, Handbook and signs
(decals) on auto. Follow warnings and instructions
in the manuals when making repairs, adjustments or
servicing. Check for correct function later adjustments,

BATTERY
Checking the Battery
The tool listed will be needed to do the following procedure:
MEL,10004 Battery Tester
To make a safe and complete check of the battery see the Clark
Battery Manual (Pin 6566047).
The Battery Manual has all the information and specifications
needed for checking and servicing the battery. Supercede the
battery equally needed.

DO NOT remove the vent caps from the bombardment while charging
the bombardment. The bombardment has vent caps which will subtract the
possibility of the bombardment existence exploded by an external spark.
Removal and Installation
Disconnect the battery cables. Always remove the negative (-)
cable beginning to prevent sparks !!50.
Remove the battery holddown clamps (Detail one) lid, ~and [Q].
Remove the battery from the loader.

ALTERNATOR
Alternator Belt Aligning (741)
Open the rear door.
Remove the belt shield bolts.
Remove the chugalug shield from the engine ~.
Loosen the adjustment bolt lid.
Move the alternator to gear up the belt tension at 5/16" (eight mm)
deflection with ane five pounds of force ~.
Tighten the adjustment bolt lID.
Install the belt shield.
741,742,743,743

Between a single connection and ane of the three connections.
Connect the tester in the opposite direction. The light must
come "ON" in one direction, but not in the other management.
Cheque each diode with the aforementioned procedure.
Connect a exam calorie-free as follows to cheque the rectifier
Between one connexion and insulated heat sink. Connect the
test light in contrary management. The light must come up "ON" in
one management, but not in the other direction.
Between one connection and the grounded heat sink. Connect
examination light in opposite direction. The light must come up "ON" in

When installing the brushes, put a piece of straight wire through
the housing to hold the brushes in the up position ~.
So install the rotor, when in position pull the wire out to seat
the brushes.

STARTER
Checking the Starter
The key switch must exist in the "OFF" position.
The battery must be at full charge.
The cable connections must be clean and tight.
Connect a jumper wire between "S" terminal and "BAT"
terminal ~.
If the starter turns just does not turn the engine, the starter bulldoze
has a defect.
Connect a jumper wire between the "M" final and the
"BAT" terminal 00.

If the starter turns, the defect is in the solenoid.
If the starter does not turn, the starter is lacking.
Removal and Installation *
Disconnect the negative (-) cablevision from the battery.
Mark the wires on the starter and solenoid. Remove the
wires ~.
Remove the starter mounting bolts ~. *
Installation: Tighten the bolts to 25-28 ft.-Ibs. (34-38 Nm)
torque.
Remove the starter.

TROUBLESHOOTING

FUEL Organisation
Fuel System Service
Engage the parking restriction and start the engine.
Push button the throttle frontward until it is against the cease.
If it is not against the stop loosen the nut (Item 1), remove the
pin (Item ii) and turn the clevis to adjust throttle aginst the stop
~. High idle must be 2950-3000 RPM. If non correct, turn the
adjustment screw.
Push button down the solenoid rod (Item ane) to check that the rod
contacts fuel excess button. The lever must not hit the neckband
around the fuel excess push [!J.
Conform the lever until there is .0312 (0,79 mm) clearance lID.
Note: It is of import that the linkage is adjusted and then the
plunger in the solenoid is in a full down position when
engaged. If it is not, there will be damage to the
solenoid.
Venting Air From the Fuel System
Air must be vented from the fuel system after the following
conditions.
Replacement of fuel filters.
Replacement of fuel organisation parts.
The auto has run out of fuel.
The fuel line has been replaced or repaired.
Removing water from the water trap.
To vent air from the fuel system use the following procedure:
Fill up the tank with clean approved fuel.
Check the in-line filter and fuel line for dirt. Both must be clean
and have no restrictions.
Loosen the slotted plug (Item 3) ~.
Move priming lever (Item 1) ~until you cannot see air coming
from the slotted plug (Item three) ~. Tighten the fitting.
